Gospel singer and media personality Linet Munyali, better known as Size 8, has revealed one of her biggest regrets in life: not making the most of her youth.

In an interview with Nation Lifestyle, the mother of two confessed that she had spent a lot of her early years seeking short-term pleasures like partying and trying to be popular.

“To be honest, I wish I had concentrated more on what truly matters instead of focusing so much on hype and having fun,” she said.

In April 2013, Size 8, who had been very successful in the secular music industry, became a Christian and started singing gospel music. This journey was marked by the release of her first popular gospel hit, Mateke.

She joined a theology school in 2020 and was ordained as a pastor the same year.

“I am turning 39 in August, and when I reflected on my life, I realised I may only have about 30 more years of strength ahead of me. Looking back, I wish I had used my youth more wisely,” she said.

She noted that many of the activities that young people prioritise today may seem insignificant later in life.

"All those parties, outings and expenses may seem important now, but when you get older, they may not matter as much. I wish I had used my time better because I would be much further ahead today," she added.

As part of her personal growth, Size 8 revealed that she has made significant lifestyle changes, including reducing the amount of time she spends watching television and using social media.

Although she still works as an influencer, the gospel singer says she now approaches social media strictly as a business tool.

“I post what I need to for work and move on,” she explained.

In a past interview, Size 8 said that she wanted to be famous and successful because she had a difficult childhood and felt pressure to fit in with rich students at State House Girls High School.

"I came from a very humble Christian family and often relied on the generosity of my dorm mates for basic necessities. This greatly shaped my desire for a better life and eventual rise to fame. I wanted to be famous so I could be rich. That is how I sarted singing secular music.”
